I find myself talking less and less about various generations. Thinking that millennials do things one way and boomers do the same thing a different way just doesn’t seem right. I guess deciding that a person will act a certain way because they are a particular age makes no sense to me. Put another way, saying that an entire generation has certain attitudes or values isn’t realistic.

I like the idea of “intergenerational” thinking. People of different ages mixing and accomplishing things is what should happen in the real world and it’s how I like to focus my energies. I want my community — my communities — to be intergenerational.

Being part of an active intergenerational culture is good for everybody — young and old(er). We need to do more to foster intergenerational energy.
